Privacy
Your records stay on your phone.
This is a plain-language summary. Our full privacy policy will be posted here before the app launches.
What we don't do
- No account and no sign-up.
- No SurviveYOUR server stores your plan, home records, Vault or messages.
- We don't sell your information or use advertising trackers.
What stays on your phone
Your household, home records, supplies, Vault photos and documents are stored on your iPhone. Vault files and sensitive home records are encrypted and can only be opened while your phone is unlocked. If you use iCloud Backup and iCloud Keychain, Apple can restore them to your new iPhone.
What the app sends, and to whom
- Your home address, once, to the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder when you save or change it, to find your county, census tract and evacuation zone. The result is kept on your phone.
- An approximate location (rounded to about 1 km) to the National Weather Service for alerts and to FEMA for open shelters.
- Appliance model numbers to SaferProducts.gov (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission) to check for recalls, if you add appliances.
- Vehicle VINs to NHTSA, only when you choose to decode one.
- Apple services for maps, address search, purchases and, if you turn it on, calendar sync.
- Downloads of public data (zones, routes, offline packs) from data.surviveyour.com. These requests contain nothing about you.
- Purchases are processed by Apple and verified through RevenueCat using an anonymous ID.
- Nearby messages go directly between phones and are end-to-end encrypted. They never pass through our servers.
